ISI's History
ISI was founded in 1977 as Infortext
Systems, Inc. offering copy control products. In 1984,
Infortext Systems, Inc. acquired its first PC-based
call accounting product. In 1992, new ownership acquired
the company and its name was changed to ISI, Inc. In
1993, ISI acquired the Telecommunications Service Bureau
(TSB), or what is now known as Infortel-TSB,
from Wiltel Communications Systems.
In 1996, ISI adopted a new strategic
direction by selling the copy control portion of its
business and focusing entirely on telecommunications
cost management.
During the next few years, ISI
released several new products to the call accounting
market, including: Infortel for Windows, its
easy-to-use call accounting product for smaller corporations,
and Infortel-NT, its telemanagement application
for enterprise businesses.
In 2000, new versions of Infortel
for Windows further distanced ISI from the competition,
and the 5.0 release delivered drastic and substantial
changes, offering two configurations - Desktop for smaller
corporations, and Enterprise, a powerful server-based
call accounting system, for businesses with up to 40,000
extensions and a virtually unlimited number of call
records.
ISI's newest solution, Infortel
Select, released in 2003, offers the best of
Infortel for Windows (onsite call accounting)
and Infortel-TSB (outsourced call accounting)
in one product. With Infortel Select, users
can migrate from an onsite to outsource solution, (or
vice versa, as needs change) with the same product,
preserving the initial investment.
In 2004, ISI changed its name to
ISI Telemanagement Solutions, Inc., reflecting its total
solution approach to telecom cost management. |
